Quartz

Year

2020

On the edge of cinema and installation, embracing choreographic writing, the enchantment of the tale and the effect of reality which defines the documentary approach, Quartz follows a group of young people drifting in the depths of a grotto.

Produced in close collaboration with non-professional teenagers from the Hauts-de-France region, Quartz takes us on a journey from a place marked by human technology and civilization to an organic and bare grotto. We plunge into the mental and physical states of the characters, time and space merge, evoking both the parietal images and those more immediate of the cell phones. In filigree, the film questions the relationship of these teenagers to image – where the self-centered portrait finally gives way to the group.
